Great Smoky Mountain’s Fall trip Sept 2006

Dave, Terry and I headed down to the fabulous roads of eastern Kentucky, southeast Tennessee, and western North Carolina.

Friday was a warm-up from Glasgow over to Tompkinsville in Kentucky and then we headed down to Cookeville in Tennessee. Then it was time to head to our base camp in Gatlinburg. A good 330 mile twisty day.

Saturday took us through the Foothills Parkway down through Deals gap and then the fabulous Cherahala Skyway. We then made a trek over the mountains on 441 to get back to base camp.

It rained during the night on Saturday night so the good roads were damp so on Sunday we headed over the mountain to ride the Blueridge parkway. We then took the scenic ride up 215 to 276 then over to I40 to get back to our base camp.

We slabbed it back home on Monday.

This was our last four day trip of the season. We have already started our planning of the spring search for surf and sun tour in April 2007.

Here are pictures of Myself, Terry, and Dave (in that order) Slaying the Dragon.
